Validering av ESUMS sensor

Vitenskapelig tittel:
Comparative testing of ESUMS sensor against reference sensors

Background. The need for improved and less expensive health care services and new models of care is imminent: The population on average lives longer and is increasingly challenged by life-style related diseases. By closer medical follow-up of the patients in their own homes, it is possible to detect disease exacerbations at an early stage and avoid hospitalization. The overall objective of the ESUMS system is continuous monitoring of patients diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) for the purpose of physical rehabilitation. This study will test the ESUMS sensor performance against validated reference sensor systems in a controlled laboratory study. Heart rate, activity level/orientation and a skin temperature will be evaluated. We hypothesise that the ESUMS device are in terms of measurement accuracy, comparable to validated measurement devices found on the market place today. The potential result is more frequent health monitoring and more timely interventions.
