Aborter i Georgia: epidemiologi, risikofaktorer og komplikasjoner

Vitenskapelig tittel:

Abortion in Georgia: epidemiology, risk factors and abortion complications

Prosjektbeskrivelse:
The proposed study will provide in-depth analysis of abortion epidemiology and major factors affecting abortion in Georgia along with abortion related morbidity. Georgia is the former soviet republic, which documented highest abortion estimates for any country according to the population based Reproductive Health Survey (3.7 abortion per women). The secondary analysis of the data from population based Georgian RHS 2010 will be performed, which employed large, nationally representative sample of women of reproductive age 15-44 years old (6292 women in total). The study results will assist health care providers, policy makers and program planners to assess correctly and adequately respond to existing family planning needs. The study results on abortion complications will identify factors affecting abortion related morbidity and will allow health providers and policy makers to plan and implement interventions for minimizing the risk of postabortion morbidity and mortality.
